November 2024

We are going to Liverpool!

Join us at the BES Annual Meeting 2024

The flagship event of the British Ecological Society gathers more than 1200 delegates from the domain of ecology every year. The 2024 edition features a set of internationally renowned plenary speakers, and thematic sessions which are especially relevant for LifeWatch ERIC. The conference will address the biodiversity crisis, nature restoration policies and practices and much more! If you are attending in person, make sure to stop by our booth and meet us there for some demos and presentations! (Photo credit: @BritishEcolSoc on X)

News from the World of Research

LifeWatch ERIC attended the Annual Meeting of the European Network of Agroecology Living Labs and Research Infrastructures, this month. The network's mission is to accelerate the agroecological transition through innovation: a transformative approach that can bring numerous benefits.

In November, we were thrilled to participate in the Tropical Summit. We attended with a booth in the "Biodiversity and Digitalisation" section, jointly representing Marine SABRES. Don't miss the colourful photo gallery and have a read for highlights of this exciting event!

This month we share with you a user story. It's always nice to see the real applications of our components, and the World Register of Marine Species (WoRMS), managed as part of LifeWatch Belgium's Species Information Backbone, has supported the Ghent University Museum (GUM) and Botanical Garden. Find out how.

The RESTORE4Cs General Assembly in Camargue was a great chance to reveal the project's upcoming Camargue Case Pilot documentary teaser. The project is also organising a Summer School, a Serious Game competition, and has recently released a Sister Projects' joint factsheet.

November can be a bit of a gloomy and dreary month, so we hope to put a smile on your face with this photo of a funny-looking horse, taken by Fabrizio Lecce at RESTORE4Cs' Case Pilot Camargue, when filming for the upcoming project documentary. Follow RESTORE4Cs to enjoy it when it gets released!

In the meantime, you can take a sneak peek at a short and sweet teaser here.
