| | Save the date! Every year, LifeWatch ERIC brings together researchers, experts and policymakers for its annual Biodiversity and Ecosystem eScience Conference (BEeS). This year's edition will take place in Heraklion, Greece, from 30 June to 3 July. Stay tuned for more information. | |
We flew to Liverpool for the British Ecological Society Annual Meeting 2024, and it was a great success! Over 300 ecologists visited our booth, expressed their interest in joining our Thematic Services Working Groups, and filled our survey, so that we can adapt our services to their needs.
We don't always get to hear successful stories of biodiversity conservation, like the one shared by Green Balkans at the Plovdiv Science Festival! The lesser kestrel recovery was a great example of what the collaboration between organisations and Research Infrastructures can achieve! | | The Agroecology Partnership is opening the first wave of applications to join its European Network of Agroecology Living Labs and Research Infrastructures, by means of an online form, until the 28th of February. Members of the Network get great advantages and possibilities of collaboration.
Climate change can affect biodiversity in many ways, from coral bleaching (when corals expel the algae living in their tissues and turn white as an effect of warmer water temperatures), to differences between the activity season of insects and plants, posing enormous obstacles to pollination. The intersection between biodiversity responses, human well-being and climate change is a timeless topic, that we have discussed in a podcast with Prof. Alberto Basset, full Professor of Ecology at the University of Salento, and Director of the LifeWatch ERIC Service Centre (Lecce). | | | | | BioDT School and Hackathon First come, first served, 20 eligible students
