The White-throated Dipper (Cinclus cinclus) is an aquatic passerine found across Europe, the Middle East, Central Asia, and the Indian Subcontinent. It inhabits fast-flowing streams, particularly in mountainous and upland regions. The bird is often seen perched on a stone in midstream, singing with a sharp, metallic voice. Suddenly, it falls silent and dives headlong into the water, where its short wings, compact body, and strong legs are perfectly adapted for swimming and foraging underwater.
